Hubs and I have been talking about letting our cable go for awhile. We have a ROKU box which is linked to our Netflix account. I have told hubs that I really do not see a need for cable tv plus the roku box.Between the hundreds of channels and the thousands of movies and television series on Netflix it just seem gluttonous of us to have so much to watch on the "boob tube." Finally, on Saturday we called Charter and cancelled our subscription. Oddly, a huge weight was lifted. Chris grew up with out a tv and spent the better part of my mid teens to late 20's without a tv. I loved it. I was able to be so productive with "creating" that I never really missed having a tv around, well maybe sometimes. Now here we are middle aged with a huge tv, cable, internet, netflix, dvds etc. and I just feel like it is mentally and creatively killing us.
Hence, a better, more consistant blog lately. I have had more "time" to figure out layout, how to get my photos where I want them, color, font etc. I am going to be posting a design blog in the future with my knit and crochet items...lots of ideas brewing and stewing. I am always being told how creative I am...not sure if that is any more true than any other human on the block, but I will take my compliments where I can get them ;)
I have some contract work on the horizon. For those who don't know, I am a paralegal by profession. I love my work. Lately, because of the down economy, the attorney's I usually contract for have not needed my services as much. Everything has had a trickle down effect.
In any event, these are some of the recent changes that I have been experiencing.

I hear ya on the tv thing. Being a news junkie, I like to get my fill of it, but then it ends up being too much noise, and its so good to turn it OFF. Quite liberating for sure. I think just making that choice to go without for a while empowers us to do other productive activities. Cheers on that!
Can you show on Facebook that you have a new posting? That would make it easier to know when you've got some new news!
Thanks for sharing the stories, challenges and joys of life. I know we're all in this together with the parenting thing. It's a privilege to watch and care for our beauties growing up!

Love you Selena...yes, I do from time to time put in my status that I have a new posting on my blog. I am trying to link all this together and drive traffic to my blog. Thank you! You are a true blue and I am grateful to call you "my friend."
LOVE that you're working more on your blog design! It looks great, too! I have my Netflix account hooked up to my Xbox and I really love it. I do keep basic cable though, because Nick Jr is a great thing to have around!
Thanks Mel! You have helped me a lot. Next I am going to do those tabs!
ummm...you guys are NOT middle-aged!
