52 Weeks of Crafts

Finally, got it! I had been telling some friends, that this year I was going to something everyday...I just could not figure out what? 365 days of doing "something" and "something different" was a dauting thought. Partly, inspired by Julie/Julia Project and the Oprah Project. Both were people's ideas of incorporating projects, ie, cooking, food and the Oprah project, in which one gal took Oprah's advice everyday and did it. I love these ideas.

Yesterday, I posted a craft that I did with the boys, fast, easy and fun. I saw that my friend Katherine Ward Lewis is doing "Katherine's Project 365" (how's that for a plug Kathy ;) ), which got me to thinking about doing something crafty everday...well, as most of you know now, I am pregnant with baby number 3, which means I am doing something "crafty" everyday ;) My brainstorming led me to... "52 Weeks of Crafts." Even though my first craft was not done this week, I did post it for the new year and since I am making this up as I go, and it is my "thing"...it will be my first week's craft.

Yeah! Finally got it. I already have next week's craft brewing...stay tuned. I will post the weeks new craft every Monday. I want feedback on the craft...did you try it? did you find it easy? how do I make better? what would you not do or do better?

Yesterday, while I was waiting for my drs appointment, I was knitting (finally, getting Jenny's wrap finished) another mom was watching me. She of course, asked me what I was making...in turn it led our conversation toward crafts and hand crafts. Most mom's find this stuff hard and hard to do with kids...my purpose for "52 Weeks of Crafts"  is to show mom's how easy it is to do crafts with kids or without. Keep it fun, keep it simple and you can "create" with your little ones under foot. I am soooo excited. This is going to be the year for "creating"  I feel empowered...but I will save all that for the pregnancy story later, as in part my pregnancy is the inspiration!

Wish me Luck!
