Camping

We kicked off the end of Spring beginning of Summer with a camping trip to Big Sur Mom's Day Weekend.

We had a really fun time. The boys did great. They really love camping. Chris was not able to join us until Friday night. I drove the camper all the way from Capitola to Big Sur! It was the first for me. I was a little nervous but we made it. I also set up the camper. It was a lot of hard work and a little difficult to keep the boys corralled while I was busy getting our camp set up. We were with friends and they helped me get it all set up. However, the next time Chris says he cannot make it we will wait for him. You definitely need two people to help set up camp. At least for now until the boys are a little older then I won't mind going camping with just the boys and I.

On Mother's Day we went to River Inn for brunch. It was awful. The service was the worst that I have encountered in a while. I was so shocked. I am finding more and more in this economy that the consumer has way more power then ever before. I we choose to spend money you are getting a more grateful attitude from businesses because they realize that you could just stay home and not spend the dough. Well, this could not be said for River Inn. We waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food to arrive. We never got our drinks and the waitress was just rude. Plus, we had kids with us. For some reason the whole event turned out to be stressful and not relaxing at all. I think the River Inn is someplace you go to get a drink and hang out by the river. It does not seem like a place to actually, dine. At least not with kids. It also tends to be an attitude of the area it goes something like this... "we are so wonderful, and this is the most beautiful place on earth and if you don't like our service or attitude then go fuck yourself we don't give a shit about your money or the economy we will still be here tomorrow."

Otherwise a perfectly wonderful weekend.

You are totally my hero for going camping and setting up with just you and the boys. You're superwoman!

I'm looking forward to Dylan getting a little older (at least potty trained) before we start the camping and hiking. I know he will love it- his favorite place is outside!
