From September to January its my favorite time of the year. School starts (it used to be for me personally something I always looked forward to-new school clothes, new notebooks with blank pages, the smell of new books being cracked for the first time by me & now I am reliving it with my children), the cooler weather, Halloween and now there are my sons birthdays Owen in September, Jettson in November. Thanksgiving and of course the crown jewel, Christmas! Ringing in the New Year! Lastly, snow trips to Yosemite. I mean, tell me what other time of the year does everything get rich in color, in texture and in smell? I just adore it!
Lately, my spirit has been a little robbed by some personal family struggles, politics and some other things. But today, I have decided to let all those things go and throw myself into the spirit of the season. I am thinking about how I am going to decorate for Christmas this year and have started planning menus and parties...ah, the spirit of giving, love and happiness, its all starting to take over again. I am really going to try to curb my enthusiasm for the news and the Internet for a bit. I love the news but it usually leaves me angry and confused. I love the Internet however, it usually leads me to places where I never intended to be. I feel that if I can curb my lust for news, that perhaps it will leave me more time to nourish my soul instead.

I totally feel you on this one. I think that I might indulge myself into the holidays this year. I've never done it before, really...Holidays are usually very stressful for me and I don't like them very much. Going to try to make it a little different this year though, so we'll see how it goes! I can't wait to see your blogs about the things you do for the holidays- you're so creative.
