Garage Sales with Jett

About a month ago I started a new tradition with Jettson and Owen. We have been going to garage sales on Saturday morning. It has been really fun. Jett has got a few really fun items. Today for example he found a light saber (someone please tell me is it "Light Saber" or Light Saver?" I was never into Star Wars and for the life of me I cannot figure out what the damn sword is called!).

In any event, Jettson has been wanting one of these light things for about 2 months. I saw the price tag on one of these things ($34 or $39) at Target and told him that it was a birthday item not a "run-to-Target-in-the-middle-of-the-week-and-get-the-toy-I-have-been-asking-for,- for weeks-on-end-kind-of-toy." Today we found one for .50 cents! Jettson's response "Mom, I scored!"

Cheap thrills!

We had the same experience! I had bought one of the expensive ones for Joey, and he found one at a garage sale with my in-laws (who go regularly) for 50 cents, so now both boys have one. Garage sales might not be a bad idea. . .

FYI...it's "saber," synonym for "sword." Micah is WAAAY into Star Wars right now (he's decided to be a Storm Trooper for Halloween).
