I woke to some yelling "Christy, Christy..." my first thought was "who am I, where am I...& why the hell is someone yelling my name." I thought perhaps I was dreaming so I rolled over and was greeted by my sweet bed buddy, Owen. Then my bedroom door flew open, it was my neighbor yelling, "Christy, Christy do you know where Jett is?" What? What do you mean? She began to tell me how she found Jett wondering around outside looking for daddy. It was 8:15am and Jett was outside looking for his parents. One was gone and the other was passed out cold in bed. Hmmm...WTF...I consider Chris and I to be very responsible parents but on this wet, cold last day of January 2008 I realize that Chris and I need to re evaluate our 4 year old parenting skills.
I called my responsible husband and chewed him out. It went something like this "WTF...Chris? I had no idea that you left? You never leave the house before 8:45am & usually u come and get me or I am up. What were u thinking...oh, let me guess...u were'nt. Again, I ask why did'nt u tell me you were leaving the house?" his response went something like this. "I did'nt want to wake you or Owen. You always get mad if I wake up Owen." hmmm...ok, I dont mind getting woke up by the neighbor telling me that my 4 year old is wondering the neighborhood looking for his parents. That is really a much better way to be woken up on the last day of January.
